Daily Ramblings
Well, my big mountain o'laundry has finally been conquered!!!!!!!!!! Most of my house is cleaned and decorated and looking quite nice. I just have the guest room and bath to do. The most dreaded. I really need to purge some notes. I really do not need half the crap that I have been holding onto.
Me, baby and his mom went to IHOP this morning. Their food perfect and once again mine total crap and not what I ordered. Baby was like you just should give up. I really don't know what the food industry has against me. Seriously, freaking bastards.
Mom made into Canada. Apparently she must fit some weird profile because she had to get out go into immigration and answer a million questions. Weird cause that only usually happens to me. I always have to get searched or asked if I am truly American. Very odd since I am a 5"0 white girl with blond hair and green eyes with a Anglo-Saxon name.
Went to the mall to pick him up some cologne today. Not one of the brightest moves we made today. What a zoo!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to make dinner and my reindeer mix while baby is at the Masjid. I hope I have enough salmon. I always under estimate how much that boy can eat.

Holidays
I don't know why but it just doesn't feel like Christmas this year. I just don't have the spirit this year. Weird. I really am missing my nana right now so that might have something to do with it. This was always our holiday.
Well, I am going to make dinner for me and baby tomorrow and we our going to chill and watch some Christmas movies I have Tivoed. Then we will get up and open our presents then have dinner over at his mom's house. I went over there after going to the masjid and cleaned his room, bath and office. He has been working so much that he just doesn't have time. It wasn't dirty just didn't to be dusted and vacuumed. He doesn't have a lot of stuff. Unlike me:)
I am going to make rice and salmon and some salad and that is it. I will make my eggs and reindeer mix for the party but I am not in the mood to make anything. I was going to make some stuff but I have been so busy trying to get my Christmas shopping done and then trying to get everything taken care of for mom. She left today. I am so glad that she got everything.
I am a wee bit irritated that my guest are staying a whole week. I feel like this break is just flying by and that I am not getting anything done that I wanted too. I guess I should be happy to see them. But I start school the day after they leave. It's just always a lot of work and I just don't feel up to it. Blah.
Well, hopefully mom will get to leave by Friday. I wired her some cash so she could eat. Luckily she hadn't pulled any cash out from the bank when she was robbed. She will receive her new phone either today or tomorrow, she will get her new drivers license sent to her before Friday. And I will receive her bank card Friday and will send that when she gets to Alaska. Judy is also going to send her a Visa debit card and I sent her one out so she will have enough to get there. It sucks because she has money, just no way to the money. I am just glad she is safe. Why are people to lazy to get out of their car and knock on the door. So rude! At least use your cell to call, ya freaks.

Robbed:(
My poor mommy was robbed last night! She was packing up her car ready to leave and someone stole her purse. Thank G-D she is ok. But now she is going to have to wait. She cancelled her cards and checks and I ordered her a new drivers license and I am waiting to hear from her so I can order her a new phone. What a mess. I don't know if I need to wire any money to her as of yet. Her bank just switched from Bank One to Chase and she is going to see if she can use her old card until they send her a new one. Hopefully they will. I was so upset last night that I had to take two sleeping pills. I hate that there isn't anything I can really do. Grrr. I hope they catch the rat bastard. Another good thing is that she doesn't have a expensive handbag fetish like her daughter has. I would have given up everything but my bag.
My new nephew was born Wednesday!!!!!! He is huge! Well, not really but for us little people he is! I can't believe that my sis could actually push him out! But he is beautiful. I can't wait to see him!!!
I am so late. I just finished my Christmas shopping today and sent off my Christmas cards. My gifts aren't going to get there for Christmas but I'm okay with that. Maybe next year they will get there by Christmas. Hey, I'm doing better this year than last. I didn't even buy gifts last year! His mom is going to have Christmas dinner at her house so I got out of cooking. I will make some mini cheese balls, develied eggs and some stuffing. I might make me and baby a dinner for Christmas eve. Though I don't know how long we will stay at his house because he likes to sleep all freaking day on Christmas. But he isn't this year. I have hardly seen him and he is going to spend some time with me!!!!:)
Me and his mom went shopping Saturday and I saw this really beautiful Michael Kors clutch and when I was paying for the stuff that I bought she bought me the clutch for Christmas! I couldn't believe it! I thought it was very sweet of her. I am so glad that me and his mom get along. It makes things go so much nicer.
Well, I am done for the semester!!!!!! I got done Friday. I passed!!! I am now a second semester Nursing student!!!! One down, three more to go, G-d willing. I had the most stressful week last week. I just had this fear that I wasn't going to pass. Pretty silly considering my grades. I can be so spastic sometimes.
I am cleaning my house and thus far have gotten my living, dining and kitchen spotless. I mean eat of the floor not a speck of dirt any where clean. I even have been purging all the stuff I don't need. It is taking me forever but it feels so good after it's done. Well, off I go to finish my bathroom.

Yipee! I took both of my finals today! And passed! With B's!!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea how good it feels. I have to go tomorrow to take an exam. It's this nursing thing that they do. It's an exam that test the whole nation and compares everyone's grades. Blah. Then I still have my procalc to take. Then I am done until the 5th!!!! Of course I will still have to study:( I have a lecture the very first day back so I must read. I also want to start studying my NCLEX book. I know, I know. I have already been told that I need help. You should have seen there eyes when they saw how organized my notebook was. What can I say? I am a freak. I also have to practice my skills. I need to work on my injections, mixing insulin and of course my physical assessment.
We went and had lunch out a the Wings place today. Quite yummy and a nice little break from studying. I have to say that the finals weren't too bad. I am just glad it's over! One semester down three more to go! One thing I am so tired of is all the freaking bitchy people who do nothing but complain. I so do not want to work with these people. Hopefully they won't be in any of my clinical groups. Bah-humbug to them.
I am going to start cleaning my house tonight. I mean really clean. It needs it so bad. And just maybe start to read all those magazines that have been piling up since Aug.

It's almost over....
I didn't take my procalc Friday like I should have. I just felt so exhausted. And I didn't have any clean clothes and my house looked really frightful. So I did laundry and cleaned. So tomorrow is the last day to take it. At least I'm not the only one!!! But the downside is I only have one try to pass it. Blah. I have to score an 85% so that means I can miss three. I took the practice test and only missed one so hopefully it isn't too bad.
The one thing I truly hate around this time of year? Out of state freaking drivers. GO BACK HOME if you can not drive the speed limit. Seriously, I passed two elderly couples today doing 30 in a 45. WTF???
I went to school this morning and got checked off for my wound care. Fun, fun, fun. Now I have to go back tomorrow morning and get checked off for cath's. I hate these. I talked to one of the instructors and she said that if you do really well in Fundamentals that you usually get OB your first rotation. The people with C's usually get MED/SURG because they don't have a great foundation yet. She said that's what they try to do anyways. I hope so! I want my group to stay together!!!!!!!
I went and got some more shopping done. I got my sis's, brother's girlfriend, my friend's little boy and one of my girlfriends gifts. I also picked up something for my neighbor. Now I just have the my two itty bitty nephews and two girlfriends and baby's gift. I still have C's but I am going to wait since he will be here on the 29th. I am also waiting to get mom's till she's in Alaska. Hopefully the post won't be bad Friday. I truly hate going to the post office.

Working for the Weekend
Well, today was my very last skills lab for first semester. I still have three skills I need to be checked off on. As of next Thurs.. I will be done!!! I had a really horrible Nursing Exam yesterday. I thought it was a bullshit test and I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one who thought so. It was the worst test we had all semester. I talked to a second semester student and she scared me!:( She was very nice but man they sound tough in second semester!!! I had my first NSA meeting tonight. We didn't know about it and we were pinned tonight at the Welcome Night. We looked like bums!! Opps! It was fun though. I saw a couple of people that I had in prior classes that made it into the program. They said that this incoming class was the class with the highest GPA averages ever. Yeah, we all know that they won't keep those 4.0! Besides you have to be more than just booksmart for this.
I am so sad about the man in Miami. I hear everyone saying that the marshals were doing there jobs. Really? It's there job to kill the innocent? Well, he said he had a bomb and they told him to put up his hands. Let's look at this logically for a moment. How did he get a bomb or a gun through our security? But most importantly if you were going to blow something up would you say you had a bomb? Uh, I think the answer is no. That right there should have been there fucking clue. Sorry, but an innocent man is dead. And everyone thinks these men did the right thing. Well, all I have to say is I hope they can live with themselves. Why am I the only one who doesn't think they did the right thing?
Since I do live in South Florida it was all over the talk radio today. Some guy called in about telling them to watch some guy that was on the plane with him because he was reading a book about Iraq. Oh, well he must be a terrorist. I wonder if people actually sit back and actually think things through? Maybe he was reading in it for a class, to get a different point of view, just for fun? No, it was a Iraq book so it must be evil. People can truly suck ass.
On a brighter note so family had to have a hibernating bear pulled out of their porch for the second time! How cute is that? Well, not to cute if it's your house I guess. I think bears are cute but I would be SCARED!!!
Some more good news. My nephew will be brought into the world this Wed.!!! I can't wait! We have been waiting a long time! Especially my sis. hehehe. Well, I am exhausted so off to bed I go.

I got my clinical evaluation today. I passed! We either pass or fail. No grades. But most of my three's when up to fours!!!!:) Four is the highest you can get. So, that's cool. She sees me has being more independent in my care. She said that I gave really good care to. Yipee!!!!
What I am really worried about is freaking Pharm. Ugh.
I braved Target today. I got my brother, one nephew and a friend's gift. I also got all my cards done!! I just have to send them out Thursday night.

I have not had a productive weekend. Unless you call stuffing myself with food productive. Then I have!!
I had the weirdest thing happen in Skills Lab. Now mind you I have seen some pretty gross things thus far. Some pretty nasty wounds, debridement (which I just thought was so cool), a wound where two toes use to be. I've seen organs being removed, bellies being sliced open and don't forget the blood! I can't even begin to tell you about the other bodily functions. Now I don't really think it's gross. Just part of the job. Doesn't seem to bother me as of yet. Know what get me queasy and weak in the knees? The thought of packing a wound. WTF????? My instructor was sitting there explaining how to do it and I am getting nauseated. I'm a strange girl indeed. Hopefully, I can handle the real thing when it comes around and
I don't end up in the bed next to the patient. And it's not so much the packing that really bothers me but pulling the previous packing out of the wound. Double ick.

Well, back to the work week tomorrow. I know it's not officially work but it is to me. Ha! Tomorrow will be my last Clinical. Woohoo! I got my instructors gift basket done. I don't know why I thought I would have any money left over for a gift card. I just went to Target to get everything. Real classy eh? That place was a mad house. Then I made the mistake of going to the mall with baby's mom. What a freaking nightmare that was. I was trying to buy some shirts that were appropriate for the warming weather. Of course I should have known better. All I found were halters, tanks and short sleeved. But tons of shrugs and coats. Grrrr. I guess I just wasn't in the mood to shop. I did buy a top at Old Navy but it is way to big. So I will have to venture out and return the damn thing. I am not finding anything I like which is really sad because I have $200 to work with from baby but I just can't find anything. I guess I'm in a fashion slump. I can't believe those words came out of my mouth!!
We went to the country club for brunch this morning. It was good but the oj and pastries were horrific. I got a killer omelet though. I am thinking that we might to the buffet there instead of me cooking for Christmas. It might make my life a whole lot easier. Then I just could make some treats and snacks and we could have the whole day to just chill. I think that might be a better plan.
I did get one gift yesterday so that is one person checked off my list. And I got lots of great ideas last night. I'm only getting small simple things for everyone. Nothing big, just stuff to let them know I am thinking of them. Then I am going to make cookies for his family. I haven't baked cookies since I left Indy. The bummer is I left all my baking stuff there. So I will have to add cookie sheets to my list.

Well, two more weeks and my first semester of Nursing School will come to a close. I still can not believe it. I had my last lecture in Nursing on Thursday. My last one! I still can not believe how fast it has passed. I feel like I have learned a lot yet I still feel like an idiot. Great eh?

I have put a big dent into my Christmas cards. I still have some packages that have been sitting here since Aug. that need to go out. I am so doing that this week. I got talked into buying my clinical instructors going away gift. I am making her a gift basket. I hope she likes it. I got some things for her Thurs. night. I will go tonight and finish up at Target. Whatever money I have left over I will just put into a gift card for her. I have my Christmas tree up and decorated. I wasn't going to bother with the rest of the decorations but I am going to put them up. Baby is going to put up some lights on the balcony for me. I haven't decided which colors I want to go with yet. Decisions, decisions!
We went out to dinner last night and I had taken a nap before he came and got me. So I was still a little cranky. I yelled at a guy who I thought was honking and yelling at us. Turns out he was trying to get some friends attention. Opps! Could thing the windows are tinted! Baby just thought it was hilarious. I was a tad bit embarrassed. We were going to go to Fridays but I vetoed it because of the really crappy service we got last time. Then we went to Dan Marino's. Which I told him was going to be a disappointments because they put pork onto everything. Well, we go in and guess what? Pork, pork, pork. So we just left. We ended up at Carrabba's and it was quite tasty. I had the pizza and it rocked. I am on a role lately. We went out Thursday to Buffalo's. It was our first time and it was so good. And the service was excellent. I was quite impressed. I had the most amazing chicken quesedillas and this great queso dip. It was made with the white cheese and had spinach and jalepenos. Tasty. Baby couldn't believe how fast I scarfed the queso dip down. I can't help it I love cheese! He was so sweet and brought me lunch from the mosque yesterday. Yummy! I love me some Indian food!
